Privacy Policy
Data controller / operator. Mohammed Nafees H, operating in his individual capacity under the NAVION ROBOTICS name, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India.
What we collect. For a 3D-printing quotation: your name, contact number, optional pickup area/city, uploaded STL and design files, part configuration, quotation and order details, and payment status once an order proceeds. We do not collect an email address in the quotation form — quotations are sent by phone / WhatsApp. We also keep necessary technical and security logs (see “Cookies and logs”).
Immediate upload of your STL. When you select an STL file in the 3D-printing tool, it is uploaded to our server straight away — before you finish and submit the quotation request — so we can review printability and show a preview. If you do not submit the request, an unattached (“orphan”) file is automatically deleted once it is 24 hours old. Cleanup runs are logged.
Purposes. Reviewing printability; preparing and sending a quotation; manufacturing; arranging local pickup; customer support; fraud and security prevention; and legal and accounting records.
Retention. We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected:
- Abandoned uploads (STL selected but request never submitted): deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Rejected or expired quotations (including their STL files): deleted within [30 days] of the quotation lapsing.
- Accepted-order STL files and details: retained up to [12 months] after fulfilment for warranty/reprint, then deleted.
- Invoices and accounting records: retained as required by Indian tax/accounting law (typically [up to 8 years]).
- Technical / security logs: retained up to [90 days].
- Backups: overwritten on a rolling [30-day] cycle.
Cookies and logs. This site sets a single strictly-necessary session cookie named navion3d. It keeps your session and a CSRF security token while you use the site, is not used for advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking, and expires when you close your browser. Server access and security logs may record IP address, timestamp and request details for security and abuse prevention.
Companion-robot survey (Google Forms). The NAVION ROBOTICS research survey is hosted on Google Forms, a third-party service. Information you enter there is collected and processed by Google on our behalf under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. Survey responses (NAVION ROBOTICS research) are handled separately from 3D-printing quotation and order data (NAVION 3D). Google acts as the platform provider for the survey.
Sharing. We do not sell your data. It is shared only with the service providers needed to run this service, and only to the extent required — currently: website hosting and file storage (our web host) and the survey platform (Google Forms). We do not currently operate an online payment flow; no payment processor receives your data at this time. This list will be updated if that changes.
Portfolio use. We will not publish photos of your printed parts or models as portfolio work without your separate, explicit permission.
Children / minors. The companion-robot survey is aimed at students, who may be minors. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child without appropriate parental/guardian consent. The 3D-printing quotation service is intended for adults; if you are a minor, please use it only with a parent or guardian.
Security. Reasonable technical measures protect your data — STL files are stored outside public web access and released only to the authenticated operator; sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your rights and how to exercise them. Subject to applicable law you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent, by contacting us (below). We aim to acknowledge requests within [7 days] and respond within [30 days]. To protect your data we may need to verify your identity (for example, by confirming the phone number and reference number used for the request) before acting. You may nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf where the law allows.
Grievances and complaints. If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, contact the operator (below) with “Privacy grievance” in your message; we will investigate and respond. If a Data Protection Board or equivalent authority is applicable and operational under the DPDP framework at the relevant time, you may escalate to it after contacting us.
